Bengaluru has two important railway stations – Bangalore City Rly. Stn. and Yeswanthapur Rly Stn, form where trains generally originate from.
Bangalore City Railway Station (SBC)
SBC stands for South Bangalore City. Historically, the railway station was located towards the south of the city – however, due to development, especially in the IT sector in Electronic City, outer ring road and ITPL had made this railway station city center. This station is also referred to as Bangalore Majestic railway station. Rajajinagar, Chickpet, KR market, Corporation Circle are some nearest places to this railway station.
All Rajadhani trains start from SBC and they won’t stop at any other railway stations in Bangalore.
Yeswanthapur Railway station (YPR)
Yeswantapur station is located towards the north of the Bengaluru city, and it is close to Tumkur road and Hyderabad road. ISKON temple, and WTC Brigade Gateway and Orion mall and Metro-cash-and-carry are the nearest landmarks of 1KM range from Yeswanthapur railway station.
